Second home management for foreign owners

You bought in Corralejo or the north. You are not on the island most of the year. The house still needs a calendar, guests, cleaning, and someone who answers the phone in the right language.

The actual problem with a second home

A lot of German, Dutch, Italian and British owners treat Fuerteventura as a place they visit a few weeks a year and otherwise leave empty — or they hand the keys to a neighbour and hope. Empty houses age. Informal lets collide with your own flights. A WhatsApp cleaner is not an operator.

We run the house as a product when you are away, and we hold the calendar when you come. You are not competing with your own guests for dates. If you want the place empty except for August, say so on the first call — we will tell you whether that is still worth managing, or whether you only need a caretaker.

Remote management from Corralejo, not a mainland desk

Maverent is based at Calle Pedro y Guy Vandaele 19. The same people who message guests message you. Guest-facing copy and support run in English, Spanish, Italian, German and Dutch — which is also how owners actually write to us.

We take listing on maverent.com, pricing from live north-island demand, screening, check-in, cleaning, linen, and maintenance coordination with local trades. You stay informed. You do not run a hospitality desk from another country at 23:00.

When you visit versus when it is rented

Tell us the weeks you want the house. We block them. The rest of the year we match stay length to the building: mid-term furnished lets for people working from the island or staying a season, or licensed short stays where the tourist registration and community rules allow it.

A second home you occupy yourself for a month in winter is often a better mid-term product than a weekend holiday mill. High turn every three nights and your own family arriving on overlapping dates is a bad mix. We will not pretend otherwise.

Licence, community, and a house you still use

Classic short-stay tourism marketed as holiday accommodation usually needs a VV. New VVs are frozen in Fuerteventura right now. Mid-term furnished lets sit in a different legal category. Community rules still matter — some buildings simply will not accept tourist traffic.

We review the address before anything goes live. If the home only works as high-turnover OTA stock, we will say so rather than force it onto our site. Full operator detail — listing, calendar, guests, cleaning — is on the property management page for Fuerteventura.

Money, currency, and tax — the honest version

Gross rent is in euros. Our fee is a share of that. We are not your gestor, not your tax lawyer, and not your currency broker. Foreign owners typically need a Spanish tax number and someone local who files. We will tell you what we collect and pay through, and we will point you at the paperwork you should not ignore. A listing on maverent.com does not settle non-resident tax.

Typical gross ranges in Corralejo depend on bedrooms, location, and whether the house is mid-term or licensed short-stay. We talk numbers on a call after we have seen the property — not a copied OTA template emailed from another country.

How to start from another country

Leave a number on this page — WhatsApp works. We call back. Send the address, bedrooms, and the weeks you want the house yourself. We walk the property when we are next on site, or with a local if you cannot fly in. Then we tell you plainly whether we can manage it and on what model.

If we take it, the listing, calendar, guests and turns sit with us. You use the house when you said you would. That is the product.
